In the beginning [not so beginning],…

Beebz has been a baby for 8 months now, and it is fair to say she is a promising offspring looking to become an household name in years time. I recall our first meeting where we spoke about intercity travels at Texas and the challenges citizens and everyday commuters face on their trips to the places that matter to them. We were filled with high hopes and certain of what we were about to build — something innovative, easy-to-use and beautiful. This year, we launched Beebz on April 14th, precisely, and it has been in full operations since then. As every startup, we have been trying to put our ‘flag’ out there for the world to see what we have built as a solution to an underrated problem. Our first riders meant a lot to us. I mean, the journey just started.

Our mission is to improve how individuals travel long distances between cities in the United States. They can enjoy hassle-free direct route rides in a 5-seater minivan with just 5 passengers onboard. We are a cutting-edge intercity transportation service. Like Uber, but for ridership. We have received amazing reviews, ratings, comments and feedback from our users since we launched and this has been more than inspiring for us to continue the journey to reach our mission. We understood how the problems they face on their trips between cities in Texas, United States, had become a thorn in the flesh. Our offerings on our mobile app are unique, user-centered and satisfactory according to the words we receive from our target audience.

How we have performed and served our users

At the end of the year, we have recorded over 400 individual sign-ups on our app, 2,000 scheduled rides and 250 booked seats. We were able to achieve these figures with little spend on marketing, advertising and PR. We capitalized on having customers come back to use our service again and again. This alone has been integral to our growth over the months. We have served different class of individuals in Texas and this depicts the inclusiveness of our service.

For every month since launch, we had different milestones to reach, undertook certain deliverables and importantly, enabled convenience to everyone using Beebz. We celebrated every important holiday with our esteemed customers. You can read what we delivered in previous months here. It has been a time filled with highs and lows in the team and the people at Beebz.

More than anything, what we are building is very important at a time like this in the United States. There is a need to address the challenges intercity buses pose on travels, the unaffordability of flights by every class, the climate talks we have daily in a populated state like Texas, wait time at bus stations which are unsafe, travel inconvenience and longer time to destination city. There are no big player in the sector looking at this now and that is why we’ve taken it as an opportunity to build upon.

Within the next 12 months, Beebz users (riders) would be able to stream an hour-long movie on their rides via mobile tablets at the back of seats. The movies would come with ads. Interested riders who do not want to stream movies with ads can opt-out from the ads service, but with a cost. This would require us to go into a strategic partnership with stakeholders at Netflix. These ads are from local, small and large enterprises looking to expand their reach. We would also introduce Beebz Premium where users on our travels can have all the convenience to themselves and more.

Secondly, users traveling to the next (a new) city for the first time would have the privilege to select Airbnb listed apartments and hotels near their destination address (where they can spend the night, days or week in). We have had this one rolled up our sleeve for a while now and now ready to unleash.

Lastly, building the network necessary for a completely autonomous future is also our goal. Our goal is to establish a varied, shared AV network by first working together on consumption and then introducing autonomous vehicles (AV). For the intercity use case, the majority of transportation businesses are concentrating on developing autonomous models. For intercity rides, however, the use, logistics, and economic structures are very different. That’s the area we are looking to conquer.

We are building the next generation of intercity rides to enable the world move better to the places that matter to them.
